Active Volunteers
The “Do Good, Ukraine!” initiative was launched in 2008 at the JCC Mazal Tov by a small group of committed activists. Today, it has grown into a volunteer movement bringing together more than 200 active volunteers.
This is a multifunctional initiative that unites volunteers of different ages and backgrounds to provide systematic support to vulnerable groups. The project is implemented through sustained work across multiple areas:
The project has a sustainable structure with coordinators, partners, and well-established processes for volunteer training, engagement, and support. Thanks to its flexible format, the initiative responds quickly to community needs, helps overcome social isolation, and fosters a culture of responsible citizenship.
Providing humanitarian assistance to people in difficult life circumstances through food, hygiene items, drinking water, medicines, and building materials.
Creating opportunities and supportive conditions for an inclusive theatre troupe to stage original performances. Producing charity performances and unlocking the creative potential of volunteers with disabilities.
Raising environmental awareness within the community. Delivering food and medicines to people with limited mobility through volunteer cyclists.
Projects “Chag Sameah” and “Perah” Organizing children’s programs in residential care and social institutions. Holding festive events for JFS children. Developing animation and facilitation skills among volunteers through thematic training. Supporting the social inclusion of children with disabilities and children from crisis-affected backgrounds.
Developing volunteers’ personal and professional skills, including communication, analytical thinking, and critical thinking, through film screenings and group discussions.
Creating supportive conditions for elderly people living alone, helping them feel needed, protected, and actively involved in community life.
Developing social entrepreneurship in the region while providing essential clothing and footwear to community members, residents of the Zaporizhzhia region, and internally displaced persons.
